Jersey Hospice Care

Michelle Benest, Health Care Assistant at Jersey Hospice Care said:

“We’re so grateful to Skipton International for helping to fund this amazing project. The memory frames are really important to our patients and their loved ones, giving them an opportunity to create a special memory together. It's something that families can hold on to after their loved one dies, and they can look back and remember all of those special moments we have the honour of helping to make happen, thanks to their generosity.”

Look Good Feel Better

Look Good Feel Better is a leading cancer support charity aimed at boosting the physical and emotional wellbeing of people living with cancer. The national charity, helps boost the physical and emotional wellbeing of people living with cancer through free online and (post Covid) face to face workshops, printed materials and tutorials. The small group sessions tackle some of the problems that might be faced through treatment.  Questions can be asked, experiences shared and lots of new tips and techniques are demonstrated by our experts. Most importantly there is always a lot of chat and laughter!

“We are thrilled to receive this grant for £1,431 to help towards providing vital physical and emotional support to people living with cancer.  Over the course of the last two years, raising funds for the charity has been incredibly challenging. However, as we come out of the pandemic demand for both our virtual and in person wellbeing Workshops has never been greater. It is for this reason that support from organisations like the Skipton Community Fund is so absolutely essential to the future success of the charity and in supporting people living with cancer.”
