Steve Byrne named as Ambassador for Skipton Swimarathon

The Skipton Swimarathon has named its 2024 Ambassador as Steve Byrne, Manager of the G.S.P.C.A.

Mr Byrne is well-known across Guernsey for his passion for animal welfare, and enthusiasm for raising funds for the charity.

He said: “I am thrilled to be the Ambassador for the 2024 Skipton Swimarathon. The family-friendly swimming event is such a tradition on the island and being the ‘face’ of it is something I take great pride in.”

The reservation system is now open, and the event takes place at Beau Sejour between Wednesday 2 and Sunday 6 October. The Skipton Swimarathon is organised jointly by the Guernsey Round Table and Lions Club of Guernsey, and supported by long-term sponsor, Skipton.

Mr Byrne concluded: “The G.S.P.C.A. can only exist with the support of the public so I would urge as many people as possible to form a team, take the plunge and raise as much as you can. I promise you it will be money well spent.”
