Birthday gift makes local charities’ wishes a reality
It's not everyday that you get to make a birthday wish that will impact lives all around the Channel Islands, but that’s what Skipton International has done to mark its 13th birthday this year.
It's not everyday that you get to make a birthday wish that will impact lives all around the Channel Islands, but that’s what Skipton International has done to mark its 13th birthday this year.
Sometimes the gift of giving back is the best kind of birthday present, which is why the bank has decided to inject £20,000 into its Community Fund - a scheme which supports good causes in the Channel Island community – to be equally divided by ten chosen charities and community projects across Jersey, Guernsey, and Alderney.
The Guernsey recipients are Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association, Guernsey Lifeboats, Channel Island Air Search, Talking Benches, Guernsey Bereavement and Guernsey Animal Aid. The Alderney Wildlife Trust is another recipient, and Jersey’s are Earsay, Philip’s Footprints, and Jersey Cat Community/PURR (Pussycats for Rescue & Rehoming).
The Skipton Community Fund regularly supports local causes, charity projects and initiatives that have a special place in the heart of Channel Islanders, and this birthday uplift is the biggest donation the fund has ever made to date.
Each charity that has received this boosted funding was nominated by a team member at Skipton as being worthy recipients.
For any local charity or good cause who wishes to apply to the Skipton Community Fund, full details can be found at: https://www.skiptoninternational.com/skipton-community-fund
