If you are due to commence your first year at University and are looking for an opportunity to gain valuable experience whilst completing your university course, Skipton International is looking for students like you!
Students are being invited to apply for our Guernsey Bursary scheme which offers a fantastic opportunity to join a leading bank. The selected student will receive ongoing professional support throughout their studies and gain valuable work experience across all areas of the business.
Included in the Guernsey Bursary scheme is a minimum of eight weeks paid employment per academic year, mentoring from the Skipton International management team, the opportunity of longer term work placements during your degree (if required) plus the bursary award of £3,000 towards academic fees. Upon completion of your degree Skipton would encourage future career progression towards a managerial position within our bank.
We are looking for a talented and motivated team player possessing the competencies that we believe are important in driving our business forward. Attributes such as interpersonal and communication skills, as well as initiative and the motivation to succeed, are key to us to support our position as a leading provider of Offshore Savings Accounts and Mortgages.
What do we provide?
- Yearly bursary award of £3,000 towards your academic fees;
- At least eight weeks paid employment a year;
- Support, guidance and constructive feedback from the Skipton management team;
- Work placements during your degree (if required); and
- Possibility of a career with Skipton International upon completion of your degree
Are there any conditions to applying?
Yes, you will need:
- to have attained excellent GCSE's (including English and Maths) and be on track to achieve strong A Level/IB Diploma/IB CP/BTEC Extended Diploma Results
- to be a Guernsey Resident
- to not be receiving a bursary from any other company at the same time
Applicants looking to undertake degrees relevant to banking are encouraged (e.g. Business Administration, Management, Accountancy, IT, Marketing, Economics, etc.).
How do I apply?
Applications for the bursary scheme are invited from A Level students due to sit their A Levels in summer and someone progressing to University.
